Earth Hour - How Will You Spend It?
Saturday, March 28th from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm (Pacific) is Earth Hour. How do you plan to spend your time in the dark?
Quality Time on Mother Earth
If you look at this time as an opportunity to reconnect with those you love, it can be quite a fun time. When our kids were young they really enjoyed power outages. It was an opportunity to gather in the warmest room and be creative with our time together. We played games by candlelight and told stories.
What are your plans for the hour? Learn more about Earth Hour.

What is a PREVA?

I hear this question often, "What does PREVA after your name stand for?" I believe for now that this designation remains known primarily to real estate agents because it is awarded to real estate assistants.
REVA Network
The REVA Network (Real Estate Virtual Assistant Network) connects real estate specific VAs with Realtors seeking their assistance.
PREVA Designation
The PREVA designation I received from the REVA Network and it stands for "Professional Real Estate Virtual Assistant". Essentially, the REVA Network has verified that I am a capable and credible virtual assistant working with real estate agents in a virtual manner.
If you have any questions related to virtual assistants, please do not hesitate to ask :)

When Websites Go Down
Ever have that problem where you cannot access a website and others can? Well now you can check it out before suffering the "It's just you." response. Today, a colleague notified me of a website where you can put in the troublesome website address and poof! It immediately tells you if you are the only one unable to access the site, or if others are experiencing the same problem. This sure beats waiting for time bottles and timed out error screens, doesn't it?
Here you go: Down For Everyone Or Just Me

Life Expectancy of an Inket Printer
My printer, an hp officejet d145, turns 6-years-old this year! Why am I surprised? Well probably because it outlasted 2 of the computers it was partnered with over the years. For those of you that know me, you know I'm pretty tough on my electronic gadgets. You're probably wondering why I would purchase such a huge printer that I couldn't easily toss out the window in a time of frustration.
This all-in-one wonder machine was not my original choice. Way back in 2003, I selected a different printer on sale at my local Staples store. Upon arriving at the store I was notified that the printer was out of stock. Well to my delight, Staples had a policy that if this should happen, they would sell me the next printer (upgrade) at the sale price of the out of stock item.
I couldn't resist! The best feature of this machine is the double capacity ink cartridges. Although they are becoming more difficult to find in stores, I do buy them easily online and I must say they are very reasonable.
Yes, that is a cow print under my printer...surrounding myself with the things I love :)

Cold? Flu? Are Your Clients Suffering Too?
You would think that working from home keeps you from catching the latest cold or flu bug, well if you have kids still in school think again!Although I did fall victim to the latest cold, complete with fatigue and fever, I can confidently tell you that my clients' businesses did not suffer like I did.
Having your backup plan in place at all times is a great way to run your own business. Letting your clients in on the details of your backup plan is not always necessary, although I do know that the more analytical the client, the more they relish these type of details.
So a great round of thanks to those that back me up, as well as cheer me on. Your support is appreciated and never forgotten.
